• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us so we can create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
• Saved competitions. The competitions you save or shortlist, so we can show them back to you across sessions and devices.
• Usage data. Analytics about how you use the site (pages viewed, features used, approximate location, device and browser type), collected to help us understand and improve the product.
• Messages you send us. If you contact us or submit a competition, we keep the information you provide so we can respond and act on it.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
• To save and sync your shortlisted competitions.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve Casedex.
• To respond to your messages and competition submissions.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We share data with trusted third parties only as needed to run the service:

• Supabase — account authentication and database hosting.
• Google— optional “Sign in with Google” authentication.
• PostHog and Vercel — product analytics and website hosting.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and only on our behalf.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Children

Casedex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
