Mayor's Fund for London
Since 2012, the Mayor’s Entrepreneur has awarded £560,000 start-up funding to winning student ideas, and over £80,000 in additional funding to winners and finalists, aiding the start up of 35 winners. Among these businesses, 28 are still running, with 1688 people employed.
Over 4256 student business ideas have been submitted, from 115 universities, and over 7447 students trained at workshops on employability and entrepreneurship skills. We have employed 224 interns, providing young people with the skills and confidence to tackle their chosen careers.
By encouraging London-based students into entrepreneurship, the competition taps into their perspectives and creativity to find innovative solutions that will improve the capital. Check out the Mayor’s Entrepreneur Programme documentary video for a glimpse into the competition process.

Based on the Pearson and British Esports Level 3 BTEC National qualification in Esports, this challenge tests competitors’ ability to explore the esports industry, generate viable enterprise ideas, conduct meaningful market research, and produce a realistic business plan for a start-up within the esports ecosystem. Competitors will demonstrate their creativity, commercial awareness and communication skills through a professional pitch to industry stakeholders.
